Bag In/Bag Out (BIBO) Housing Systems
Bag-In/Bag-Out (BIBO) filter systems are designed for critical applications where exposure to dust, fumes, or gases could be harmful, or even fatal, to service technicians. These bag-out housing systems typically use high-efficiency filters, including HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, ULPA, or HEGA elements, to provide maximum contamination control.
Get in TouchThe Importance of Bag-In/Bag-Out Systems
Industrial workspaces produce significant airborne dust that can pose health risks, including asthma, irritation, allergic alveolitis, and long-term conditions. Bag-out housing systems provide safe containment for filter change-outs, allowing technicians to remove contaminated air filters into sealed disposal bags while preventing exposure to hazardous dust, fumes, or gases.
These systems are engineered as multi-stage filtration units for environments where airborne contaminants present serious health and operational risks.
Process of Bag-In/Bag-Out Filter Replacement
Heavy-duty disposal bags mount to collars beneath filter access doors. When filter replacement is required, technicians remove the access doors to expose the seam-welded bags. Filters are removed and replaced through the bag, preventing contamination.
BIBO housings are built from Type 304 or 316 stainless steel, compliant with ASME N509 Nuclear Standard, ensuring approved construction methods, welding procedures, and materials.
- Bag-out housing systems use high-efficiency HEPA filters, ULPA filters, and HEGA filters.
- Multi-stage operation includes prefilters, HEPA/ULPA stages, and HEGA for gas-phase contaminants.
- Technicians perform all filter replacement using specialized containment bags and secure filters with heavy-duty clamps to eliminate bypass.
Applications for Bag-In/Bag-Out Filter Systems
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Cleanrooms – Maintain sterility during filter replacement.
- Hospital Isolation Suites & Medical Facilities – Contain potent compounds safely.
- Biotechnology & Biosafety Labs – Secure hazardous powders and biohazards, even in BSL-3/BSL-4 labs.
- Nuclear & Radiological Applications – Protect operators from radioactive or carcinogenic materials.
