Good Production Practices
“Good Production Practices Guide for Cannabis” was published by Health Canada in August, 2019. The Good Production Practices (GPP) Guide is the must-have reference for any cannabis growing or processing operation in Canada. A copy of the GPP is provided on this webpage along with some links (see below) to the various reference pages that offer essential guidance to anyone planning a new cannabis growing (or processing) operation.
There are also many organizations and periodicals to support the burgeoning industry. All of the experts recommend the following:
1. Use architects and consulting engineers who have a proven track record in the cannabis industry. While the industry is young here in North America, the cannabis industry has been around for many years in parts of Europe so there is significant experience in indoor HVAC and greenhouse HVAC systems from growing operations in Europe.
2. Use proven technologies for odour control (carbon media and specialty impregnated carbon medias for cannabis odours) and for contamination (fungus, mold and spores) control (HEPA filtration). Don’t fall for gimmicks and unproven technologies.
Industry Air Sales (IAS) has been in the critical environment air filtration business for over 20-years, providing proven air filtration technologies and working with established and experienced consulting engineers.
Be prudent, follow the GPP Guide and get guidance from professional architects, consulting engineers, and equipment suppliers who have industry experience and proven track records!
